Ways to Lose Weight Fast
Ways to Lose Weight Fast: Ways that Work and Ten Top Tips.
I’m not about to condone or recommend any attempts at crash dieting as a way to lose weight fast, because a) crash diets are not safe, and b) they don’t work that well long term. You get issued one body. Treat it right.
Where does that leave you if you’re overweight and want to lose weight as quickly as you safely can? There are two lifestyle changes you can add to your daily routine, either one of which will make a difference to your size within days. Put them together, and the results you’re after in terms of weight loss and shaping up will come even quicker. What are they? What you eat, and what you do.
The fastest way to check your weight gain and correct it is to dump refined sugar from your diet. Immediately. As in a total cutting out of sugar from what you eat and drink. Sugar isn’t a necessary food. You don’t need to eat it. You won’t suffer any nutritional loss if you cut it out completely, and you will reduce your chances of developing type 2 diabetes. No candy, no desserts, no canned soft drinks, no honey. Too hard? Not as hard as having to inject insulin. While you’re at it, cut out alcohol too. That’s all the fun stuff gone, right there. That’s the bad news. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be forever. Give your body a holiday from the stuff that’s poisoning you, and you can get back to being healthy. Then, if you must, you can put it back into your diet, but in moderation. One bar of chocolate isn’t going to hurt you — but eating three or four a day will, over time. One glass of wine with dinner is a good thing — but getting roasted every night isn’t.
If you’re not getting enough exercise, the knock-on effects are going to ruin your health. Do you have a sedentary job? Do you spend your evenings slumped in front of the TV? That’s a recipe for health problems. When you’ve taken charge of what you eat, it’s a good time to look at what you do. Exercise is a scary word, but it doesn’t have to be. Anything you do to get off your butt and get moving counts; walking is one of the easiest ways to get your body working, and you don’t have to invest in anything but a good pair of shoes to do it. If you haven’t exercised in years, walking is probably the safest way to ease back into it. You set your own pace, and you decide how hard or how easy it’s going to be. The only thing you have to do is make it a regular thing, rather than something you do when your guilt over not exercising prods you into it. Regular exercise has a cumulative effect.
Top tips for fast weight loss? Here are my recommendations:
- 1. Use weights. You’ll build muscle and raise your metabolism so you burn more calories.
- 2. Cut back on carbs and switch from white flour products to unrefined flour: wholemeal bread and pasta. No pastry, no cakes.
- 3. Set a goal. Set a realistic goal, make it time-specific, and write it down.
- 4. Give up canned or bottled soft drinks. If you do nothing else, do this. Your teeth and your health will thank you.
- 5. Do not fry meat. Grill instead, and use lots of spices.
- 6. Don’t buy junk food. The simplest way to avoid junk food is not to buy it. Don’t go shopping on an empty stomach and you’ll be less likely to buy the food that’s bad for you. Keep your home junk food free so you can’t indulge.
- 7. Eat breakfast. Never miss it. And at night, don’t eat after 8pm and not only will you avoid those added calories but you will sleep better and wake up hungry. For breakfast, which you never miss.
- 8. Eat five or six meals a day. Eating more frequently will keep you from getting too hungry.
- 9. Get a workout plan and stick to it. Tell someone from your local gym what you’re trying to do and get them to write you a workout plan.
- 10. Stay away from fad diets. They don’t work and they’re bad for you.
